My hair is curly, a mix of 3b and 3c curls. I spent most my puberty years straightening my hair by all means. At 18 I decided enough was enough, and started to learn about how to care for my curls. Now, I have mastered hair care. I know what products to use, how it should be styled, how to sleep with it (I could write a book about how to sleep with curly hair), as well as how to maintain it healthy. What is the result? The result? I have long, healthy curls. The extremely long drying time is the only thing I can do without. The Dyson hair dryer is the solution.
I was absolutely blown away by the Dyson when I finally bought it. It is sleek and lightweight, which is a big difference from the heavy-duty hair dryers I used before, and very easy to use. The Dyson is the best hair dryer I've ever used. The Dyson has the most precise heat controls I've ever seen. It also uses technology to ensure that I don't damage my hair, even at a higher heat setting. This is one part of my routine I actually enjoy with the Dyson.
Although I haven’t seen a knockoff, you can let your hair air dry most of it and then blow dry with a hair dryer for the last few seconds. This will give you a smooth and shiny finish without having to heat it.
It's 35% faster than other hair dryers if I had to give it a number. While I do save time each time I blow dry, the true value to me is the decreased heat damage.
But, it ended up working only on two (my hair and a friend's). While $400 seems high for a hairdryer and a good price, I found that the Dyson can do my 28-inch long curly hair in 5 minutes. This is also less damaging than traditional hair dryers.

My fine, straight hair almost never looks alive because it is so thin. My hair feels flat against my head without much effort, which makes it appear even thinner than what it really is. My hair is still my natural color, and I haven't bleached it in over a whole year. So, my hair is essentially my natural color with some dimension from past highlights. I do have some problems, however, because my hair is oily even without color. I can only go one day without washing my hair and then my hair looks terrible the second day. I'm now washing my hair more than I've ever done before, and doing all that I can to keep my ends moisturized.
Dyson Supersonic hair dryers are designed to protect hair from severe heat damage.
There hasn't been a knockoff. However, you can let your hair air-dry for most of the process and then dry it with a dryer for the last few moments. This will give your hair a silky smooth finish without any heat exposure.
Is a hair dryer that costs more than $400 worth it? I've owned the Dyson Supersonic dryer since 2018, and I love it. However, I don't think it's right for everyone. You want to know my honest opinion? Keep reading...
You should, for example, use the diffuser tool to get your hair wet.
I wash my hair at least twice a week. Sometimes, I'll let it air dry my hair but most of the times I'll blow it out. My hair is long, thick, curly and wavy. This allows me to dry it straight and diffuse it for fun waves.
The next thing I knew I was a Dyson fan. The Dyson blow dryer is faster than other hair dryers. When I first used it, I recorded the drying time on my smartphone. The result? 1:40:11. It took me less than two minutes to dry my entire head. My hair is fine and short, but I find it takes longer to make instant coffee. This alone made me decide that the Dyson was worth it. Although I often run late, I don't worry about whether I have enough time to dry my hair now. I have always got two minutes.
In recent times, having a great hair dryer was a necessity instead of a wish.
Dyson claims they've tried different hair types in the lab and have developed a range attachments that can style different types.
When I finally bought my Dyson, it was an instant swoon (LOL). It's lightweight and sleek, unlike the bulky hair dryers I used, and it's easy to use. I have never seen a hair dryer like the Dyson. The heat controls of the Dyson are some of the most precise and effective I've seen. This technology also ensures that my hair is not damaged by heat too high. This part of my hair care routine is something I look forward to with the Dyson.
We have created attachments for different hair types after testing them in our laboratories.
The Styling Concentrator is what I use nine times out of ten. The diffuser helps me define my hair and keep it from frizzing.
My opinion is that the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer is the best for gray hair. Dyson Airwrap is my only rival.
Whatever the reason I don't know, I was willing to test Dyson Supersonic Dryer.
Rapid drying No extreme heat. Different hair types can be accommodated.
They can dry hair quickly and provide controlled styling. The dryer improves smoothness by 75%, shines by upto 132%, and reduces frizz by up to 61%
The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer measures the air temperature more than 40 times per second and regulates heat. This helps protect your hair's beauty and prevents heat damage.
Fastest drying+: Combining the small and powerful Dyson digital motor V9 with Air Multiplier technology, a high-velocity controlled air jet is produced for precision styling and drying.
Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer Review. It's worth $400
The Dyson hair dryer functions like a standard dryer. However, the Dyson Air Wrap dryer is dryer AND a styling device with multiple styling attachments. For example, barrels can be used to curl or wave hair and brushes can be used to smoothen and volumize.
Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer Review - Yes, it's worth $450
Dyson isn’t lying about Supersonic’s ability to make hair feel healthier. Dyson claims that Supersonic will reduce hair damage by upto 80%. However, I am not a hairstylist and cannot verify these claims. I do know the feeling of my hair after using a Dyson hair dryer (not deep fried) and when it feels straightened (fried).
Whatever the reason may be, I knew I was going to put Dyson's Supersonic Hair Dryer to the test.
The Dyson Supersonic was used on Amanda, my friend with curly hair 3B, and mine 2C. We used the diffuser for her hair. However, I used all the attachment settings on my own hair except for the wide-tooth combing, because that's not designed for my hair type. The diffuser and concentrated styling attachments were the only ones I remembered to photograph, so please excuse me. Both attachment tools made my hair look and feel great.
A resounding yes, yes, yes. It was unbelievable that a $400 piece of plastic could have such an effect on me. But I don't mind. My Dyson hair dryer is the best I have ever used. I gave my old dryers away to my mom and my friends after I bought it. My hair is healthier than ever. I can thank my Dyson hair dryer for making my hair look great.
According to me, Dyson Supersonic has the best dryer for gray hair. Dyson Airwrap comes in second, but it's the Dyson Supersonic that I love.
To say that I'm impressed is an understatement. Keep reading to learn more about the Dyson Supersonic.
This hair dryer uses a V9 motor which is much stronger than my Dyson vacuum. It spins at up to 110,000 RPM and pumps 13 liters per second of air towards the amplifier. The hair dryer is equipped with intelligent heat control to regulate airflow temperature and protect against heat damage.
A resounding yes, yes, yes. I had no idea that a $400 lump of plastic would have such a grip on me. However, it does. I have given away all my other dryers, including the Dyson hair dryer, to my mom (and friends) since I received it. My hair has never looked better. Good health, no bleach and lots of Olaplex are the reasons my hair looks so good.
The bottom line: The Dyson Supersonic blew away the competition when it came to drying speed, strongest airflow, and consumer satisfaction in our
extensive testing. If you're in the market for a new hair dryer — and have some savings built up — it's proven to be the best hair dryer you can buy.
For this experiment I washed my hair, toweled it up for exactly six minutes while I lotioned up and got dressed and then blew my hair out.
With the Dyson hair dryer, drying my hair took seven minutes.
Unlike some others, the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer measures air temperature over 40 times a second, and regulates the heat.
This prevents extreme heat damage, to help protect your hair's shine.
Dyson says it's less damaging to your hair. The dryer allegedly prevents extreme heat damage by measuring the temperature 20 times a second to
ensure that it is consistently at a healthy temperature for your hair.
